Africa Modelling Bridge a modelling movement

Researchers

The people doing the work, made visible.

AMB is a small, named collaborative — one lead consultant, one senior adviser, one country anchor each in Tanzania, Malawi and DRC, and a working-modeller advisory network. The monthly Spotlight foregrounds one early-career African researcher whose work the platform is actively backing.

Advisory network

Working modellers, pro bono.

Not in the researcher collection — these are the methods advisers AMB pulls into orbit on a per-dossier basis. Named here so funders, students and supervisors know who is in the room.

  • Prof. Nick Golding

UWA Chair in Infectious Disease Modelling · head of IDEM-LAB · creator of greta · Director of Malaria Ecology at MAP.

  • IDEM-LAB

Infectious Disease Ecology and Modelling lab at The Kids Research Institute Australia — methods adviser bench for AMB.

  • Malaria Atlas Project (MAP)

Global malaria geospatial surfaces and modelling community — adviser channel for the malaria-anchored dossiers.

  • Vector Atlas

Continental vector-ecology consortium — Ernest is embedded as a PhD student. Adviser channel for arbovirus dossiers.

  • AIMS · African Institute for Mathematical Sciences

Pan-African mathematical sciences network — adviser channel for methods-heavy MSc and PhD dossiers.

  • ACEFA · African Centre of Excellence in Foundational AI

Methods adviser bench for the AI-assisted scaffolds across the dossier portfolio.

For early-career researchers

Join the platform. Register your interest.

If you are a BSc, MSc or PhD student in Tanzania, Malawi or DRC, AMB will route a country-led modelling question to you with a named supervisor, a methods adviser, and a modest stipend. Researcher self-service profiles open from v0.5; for now, register interest and the country anchor will reach out.
